Description
Artist Fernando Palos uses a simple, compelling interplay of shapes and colors in this lithograph. This is not a static work. A first impression reveals assembled geometric figures, initiating the idea of movement. This movement transforms into a possible creature, origami-inspired form. The articulated appendages become limbs, arms, legs, and wings, structured by integrating small circles similar to the hinges’ centers.
. Blue is the color of serenity, wisdom, and dreams. The choice of this color and its airy quality engages an entirely different narrative, suggesting the potential for a bird-like being seeking flight. In the end, a being that yearns to ascend and liberate itself from all forms of illusions. In the light spectrum, frequency corresponds to color sensations, with high frequencies represented by blues and purples. There’s a truth in color that doesn’t escape artists; Palos also proposed this lithograph in red. Red and blue represent the two extremes of these light waves.
I added the red matching one picture (see listing).
Palos indicates our anchorage in the cyclical nature of existence and the inherent dualisms of life. Two opposing yet interconnected and complementary forces – life and death, heaviness and lightness, love and loss. Despite its apparent simplicity, this lithograph harbors an allegorical landscape reflecting the intricacies of the human experience.
